Since the Wire series was created in 1971, the beautiful lamp series has stood as a shining example of Danish design. The series was created by Danish design icon and national treasure
Verner Panton, who is known for his ingenious design with clean lines and soft strokes. Panton specializes in using plastic as a medium to create vibrant and dynamic shapes, often in striking colors characteristic of the distinctive 60s style.
Now the floor and table lamps in the Wire series come in an eye-catching color scheme that beautifully enhances the already beautiful design.
Oriety and simplicity in perfect harmony
The seamless combination of simplicity and complexity, nonchalance and depth is precisely what gives Wire its special recognition value. The base consists of a chrome-plated wire frame, which has given the series its name, and a colored plastic shade with a soft and unbroken curve covering the light source. Together this creates a decorative expression where the light and industrial elements and the saturated and neutral color tones balance each other. The floor and table lamps therefore work well both individually and in combination with each other.
Thoughtful design that ensures a light effect of matching quality
As the bulb is hidden by the lampshade, you are always guaranteed glare-free light. The base is surrounded by a metal reflector with the same chrome finish as the base, so the light is directed upwards and out through the plastic shade for beautiful indirect lighting. The colored shades in the series accentuate the color and give the lamp a striking character when lit. The indirect type of light is ideal as background lighting to complement the other lighting in the room.
