The PH 5 Black is the familiar PH5 pendant lamp in a Monochrome series launched by Louis Poulsen in 2020. To give the classic lamp an authentic look, the lamp is now available with matt lacquered metal shades in both black and white, as well as the bold ultra blue shade.
It was designed by Poul Henningesne in 1958 as a reaction to the constant changes in the shape and size of the light source. Regardless of the height at which the lamp is mounted and the light source used, the PH5 lamp does not dazzle. The PH5 lamp was named after its diameter of 50 centimetres. The smaller 30-centimetre version was introduced in 2017 and was named PH 5 Mini.
