Bestlite Lamps
The Bestlite lamps were designed by Robert Dudley Best in 1930, in simple shapes that were highly unusual at the time. Robert Best was inspired by the German Bauhaus movement where shape and functionality took precedence over detailing. The lamp did not become popular until Winston Churchill selected it for his desk—after that, the lamp took off and became Britain’s first successful Bauhaus design.
