PH 5 320 pendant light, opal white, E14, polymer - Louis Poulsen

The PH 5 320 pendant light is an extension of Louis Poulsen’s legendary PH 5 series of lights. Just like the previous versions, this variant features the three-shade system, although the lampshades on this version are made from polymer. Glossy exteriors in delicate colours and white interiors characterise the PH 5 lights – shown here in an all-white version. The lights provide comfortable, glare-free light based on the principle of Poul Henningsen’s reflective three-lampshade system, the PH system. The opal lampshades combine the glare-free, downward-directed light with soft, diffuse ambient lighting from the translucent, opal lampshades, which create omnidirectional, uniform brightness with greater coverage.

In the living room, dining room or kitchen, the PH 5 pendant light becomes a source of light that provides good general lighting whilst also serving as a striking focal point above a table.

The PH 5 pendant light series was created back in 1958 by the Danish designer Poul Henningsen. The light was his response to the ever-changing shapes and sizes of traditional light bulbs at the time. Poul Henningsen designed numerous designer lights for the Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen, a long-established company that has been producing designer lights with a very special flair for more than 100 years.
