The IC T2 table lamp in matt black is part of an innovative series that includes table lamps, floor lamps, wall lights and pendant lights, all of which stubbornly adhere to the rock-solid DNA that characterises the entire series. The simple and light design means that the lights suit many styles.
Michael Anastassiades himself describes the inspiration for the series as follows:
"I came across an online video of a contact juggler, Tony Duncan. He was spinning a series of balls, moving them back and forth on his arms and fingers. Mesmerised by the magic of his skill, I suddenly saw that the balls were completely still, and I wanted to capture that exact moment! So I came across old photos of Paul Cinquevalli, who was immersed in the art of contact juggling. That was my starting point. The initials IC come from the codes used by the English police to define the perceived ethnicity of the person they stop on the street when they report to the station. IC1 means white person or Northern European type. IC2 stands for a Mediterranean/Spanish person, IC3 for an African/Afro-Caribbean person, and so on, so this is a playful story to define the different designs."
