That's the perfect description of the Tokio lamp by PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED. The Danish brand has reissued the lamp originally designed by Shigeaki Asahara in 1980. The Japanese designer celebrated mechanical movement in almost all of his designs – and the Tokio lamp is no exception.
Like a classic architect's lamp, Tokio can be adjusted up, down, forwards and backwards – but not sideways. The small ball in the centre of the base serves as a tactile dimmer, inviting the viewer to adjust the lamp as they wish.
