Patera 600 LED pendant light, white, Ø 45 cm - Louis Poulsen

danish designer Øivind Slaatto (born 1978) has gained much recognition for his simple and poetic solutions. For Slaatto, nature is the most important source of inspiration. Here he tries to find qualities such as rationality, logic and, above all, harmony for his designs.
Slaatto has a diploma from Denmark's Design School and is a trained conservatory musician from the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music. His understanding of music is reflected throughout his approach to the design process: Slaatto wants his designs to be experienced as simple and light, like a piece of music being played. He understands that practice makes perfect and always strives to refine his solutions.
Slaatto's field of work spans a wide range – from loudspeakers and cars to furniture and light. The development of his lighting solutions is a speciality and a great passion of the designer, who has a natural sensitivity to light and therefore seeks to optimise the lighting experience and atmosphere. "
The white version of Patera was launched in 2015 as a reinterpretation of the classic chandelier with soft and dynamic lighting. Patera Silver, launched in 2019, is made of reflective silver foil that provides playful and contrasting light. Patera's glare-free 360-degree lighting is the result of detailed design with cells in different positions that give rooms, people and objects a natural, even and flattering light. The shape was inspired by the Fibonacci sequence, which gives a new and beautiful impression from all sides.
The sophisticated and bold reinterpretation of the chandelier works in both modern and classic interiors. A single Patera in silver provides a luminous focal point in the room. And when several are hung side by side, in one or more sizes, they convey the feeling of magic we experience when we look up at the starry sky.
