Vacuum metallisation is the advanced technique that has resulted in the Melt table lamp in copper. This is the wonderful result of Tom Dixon’s crazy experiments that he manages to pull off right under our noses. When turned off, Melt hangs with is secret mirrored surface like a golden metallic metal lump. When the light is on, the inner glow comes out to greet the world and spellbinds us.
The forward-thinking Swedish design collective Front is behind the Melt lamp, in collaboration with Tom Dixon. This fabulous partnership is perfectly suited for Dixon’s unique and eccentric British streak, not to mention his endless well of creativity.
