The lamp's six light sources are housed behind separate opal glass lampshades. The lampshades are arranged at each end of the slightly curved rods that overlap and together form the lamp's frame. The light shines out through the opening at the bottom of each shade and through the shade itself. The white, opaque surface of the opal glass ensures that the light can escape efficiently but in a soft and pleasant glare-free light.
