The Orient P2 pendant is a simple, streamlined design with an excellent output of light – and it doesn’t hurt that it’s made from some of the highest-quality materials.
It was created by Jo Hammerborg in 1963 for Fog & Møreup, once the most important lighting company in Denmark.
50 years after the pendant was created, Lightyears decided to re-launch Orient in partnership with the Hammerborg family, who are now in charge of Jo Hammerborg’s design archive.
The organic shape of the lamp perfectly accentuates the depth of the shade. Thewooden top creates a dynamic transition from the metal shade to the tightly woven fabric cable.
At the top of Orient, there are 21 slim, vertical slits that allow light to filter through the shade. The light source is well-hidden by the shape of the lamp. This ensures a soft and comfortable light without glare.
