Normann Copenhagen - The story behind the Amp series

The Amp series from Normann Copenhagen combines nostalgic inspiration with modern Scandinavian design language and is now one of the most iconic designs by Simon Legald.

The idea was born during the restoration of an old radio from the 1960s. The designer was particularly fascinated by the warm glow of a tube amplifier - a detail that later became the basis for the shape, materiality and name of the series. The name "Amp" also refers to the English name of the tube amplifier: tube amplifier.

The characteristic design language is reminiscent of the transparency and depth of classic hi-fi devices. Depending on the variant, smoked glass, opal glass or metallic surfaces meet details made of marble or brass and create an exciting balance between soft and clear, light and solid. Every proportion has been carefully balanced to create precisely this harmonious equilibrium.

The light is gently filtered and creates a warm, atmospheric effect in the room. Whether as a pendant light, table lamp or arranged in a group - the Amp series combines industrial inspiration with timeless elegance and versatile expression possibilities.

A design with history. And light with special depth.
