The Knit-Wit collection from Made by Hand combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design language - and redefines light in a particularly sensual way.

Designed by Copenhagen-based studio ISKOS-BERLIN, the series stands for an innovative use of materials: instead of classic shades, each lamp is made from knitted yarn. A technique with its origins in craftsmanship, reinterpreted for contemporary design.

The textile material gives the luminaire its characteristic surface and at the same time influences the light itself. It is gently filtered through the pattern of the yarn and creates a warm, soft atmosphere that makes each luminaire unique. Inspired by the classic rice paper lamp, the result is a pleasant 360° light that shines all round.

The combination of structure, lightness and transparency creates an interplay of light and texture that is constantly changing depending on the colour and size. New colour variants expand the collection and bring additional nuances to the interplay of material and light. Knit-Wit thus becomes a versatile element - in private rooms as well as in public areas. The fine knitting technique enables seamless, organic shapes with a subtle, lively surface.
