Rocking Horse Swing Toy Velvet Black - Fritz Hansen

Rocking Horse Black Veneer is an original design by Fritz Hansen and pays homage to the visionary carpenters who dare to think big and break new ground. The design of the rocking horse dates back to 1946, when a prototype of the finished rocking horse first saw the light of day. The design was created in an effort to further develop Fritz Hansen's wood bending techniques in order to achieve the desired shape through an interplay of material and design. However, due to the complex manufacturing process required by the design, it was not possible to put the rocking horse into production, and only now, with the modern manufacturing techniques available today, can Fritz Hansen's idea be realised.
The rocking horse is characterised by a holistic design language, as it is made from a single piece of moulded ash veneer. The ears are made of leather, while the tail is made of flagline. The rocking horse is available in both a black lacquered and an unlacquered version.
