Peter Bysted designed the stunning outdoor lamp in 1975 with the aim of creating a lampshade that casts an interesting pattern on the ground around it. Bysted succeeded, and the lamp became a classic for outdoor use thanks to its revolutionary use of COR-TEN steel and recognisable silhouette.
Louis Poulsen has made a few minor changes to the iconic product – such as removing the screws at the top of the lamp – but apart from that, the new, smaller Bysted Garden is as faithful to the original as possible. The round, symmetrical design is just as elegant and beautiful as the original, and the soft glow is directed downwards by the white coating inside the rings to create the lamp's famous lighting effect.
